There’s a real shared experience living in a really remote part of Australia. There’s a lot of shared love, a lot of chosen family.

live in the Big Rivers

We came for the adventure and stayed for a lifetime

A lot of us only came for a year or two and now we call it home. We were drawn to that freedom of adventure, something that felt more one of a kind, a slower pace or a simpler way of life.

But it doesn’t matter how we got here or why we came. We all found something here. Something less ordinary.

For those that never left, well, they'd already found it.

I’ve lost count the amount of times a family is in need and we all pull together. It’s the true literal sense here. If you need something, if you ask someone, no matter what it is, somebody will help you.

Our people

This place just has a way of drawing in people like us

The one of a kind type. Those that know a bit of grit, keep an open mind and are willing to give it a go.

Maybe it’s because a lot of us aren’t born and bred, but we lean on each other like family. There’s something special about that. Something binding. It makes us stick together and makes it impossible to ever want to leave.

If there’s something we all share a love of, it’s that we live for our seasons. Where we wait for the dragonflies to bring that cooler weather, or those storm clouds that bring our first, sweet rain.
